Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the WithHim app (listed on the App Store as “Bible Plan: Focus Christian”) for iPhone, together with any related services operated by Benjamin Bartolabac (collectively, the “Application”). Benjamin Bartolabac is referred to as the “Service Provider”.
The short version
- There is no account. The Service Provider never receives your name, email or a password.
- Your highlights, notes, journal, reading plans and streaks are stored only on your device.
- The apps you choose to block are handled by Apple’s Screen Time. The Service Provider cannot see which apps they are.
- The Application sends usage events, tied to a random device ID rather than to who you are, to Mixpanel so the Service Provider can see which features are used. Nothing you type into a note or journal is ever sent.
- There are no ads, and data is never sold or used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Information stored only on your device
The following stays on your iPhone (and in its device backups, which Apple manages) and is never sent to the Service Provider:
- Highlights, favorites, notes and journal entries
- Reading plans, including the names you give custom plans, and your reading progress
- Streaks, alarms, reminder schedules, chosen themes and widget settings
- The name you enter during onboarding, and your answer about faith or religion
- The Bible texts themselves, which are bundled with the Application so it works offline
Deleting the Application removes this information from your device.
Usage analytics
The Application uses Mixpanel, an analytics service, to understand how the Application is used and to improve it. Mixpanel receives:

| Purchase history | That the paywall was shown, and whether a purchase or restore started, completed, was cancelled or failed, with its price and currency. |
| Onboarding answers | Multiple-choice answers such as your age range, reading goals, how familiar you are with the Bible, your daily screen time estimate, preferred reading time, streak goal, translation and topics, plus how many apps you chose to lock (never which ones). Your name and your answer about faith or religion are never sent. |
| Device and region | Device model, iOS version, app version and your App Store country, plus your current streak and whether Pro is unlocked. |
The Application turns off Mixpanel’s IP-address location lookup; your country comes from your App Store region instead. The Application never sends the text of your notes, journal entries, the name you entered, or the names of custom plans. Analytics data is not used for advertising and is not shared with data brokers.
App blocking (Screen Time)
Session Lock uses Apple’s Screen Time framework (Family Controls). When you choose apps or websites to block, iOS gives the Application only opaque tokens that stand for them; neither the Application nor the Service Provider can see which apps you picked, and those tokens stay on your device. You grant Screen Time access in iOS and can revoke it anytime in Settings.
Alarms and notifications
The morning verse alarm uses Apple’s AlarmKit, and reminders use local notifications. Both are scheduled on your device. The Service Provider does not run a notification server and does not receive your alarm times, other than the analytics event that an alarm was created.
Purchases
WithHim Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment; the Service Provider never receives your card details, name or billing address. The Application checks with Apple on your device to confirm whether Pro is unlocked. Apple’s handling of purchase information is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Location
The Application does not request or collect your device’s location.
Do third parties see this information?
Only the service providers needed to run the Application:
- Mixpanel, which stores the analytics described above on the Service Provider’s behalf
- Apple, which handles App Store purchases, Screen Time, alarms and notifications under its own privacy policy
The Service Provider may also disclose information where required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, or when it believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect its rights, your safety or the safety of others.
How long data is kept
Analytics data is kept for as long as it is useful for understanding how the Application is used, and no longer than Mixpanel’s retention period for the Service Provider’s project. On-device data is kept until you delete it or delete the Application.
Your choices and rights
You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the Application. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, or to object to its processing. Because analytics are tied only to a random device identifier, please include the approximate date you installed the Application and your device model when you write, so the Service Provider can locate the records. Where processing is based on legitimate interests (improving the Application), you may object to it at any time by contacting the Service Provider.
Children
The Application is not directed at children under 13, and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, contact the Service Provider and it will be deleted.
Security
Most of your information never leaves your device, which is protected by iOS. Analytics are sent over encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, but the Service Provider takes reasonable steps to protect the information it holds. If a data breach affects information you provided, the Service Provider will notify you as required by applicable law.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Where required by law, your consent will be sought before material changes take effect. Previous versions are available on request.
